Davina McCall became emotional as she opened up about a parenting mistake that brought back difficult memories from her own childhood. Speaking on Marisa Peer's podcast Your Mind, Your Rules, the television presenter described her strained relationship with her mother, who left for a two-week skiing trip to France and never came back.
McCall recalled a moment of panic when she arrived an hour late to pick up her daughter Tilly, now 22, from nursery. By the time she got there, another parent had already taken Tilly home. The incident triggered a full-blown panic attack. She said the fear and guilt she felt in that moment reminded her of the abandonment she experienced as a child. The memory of her mother's sudden departure still lingers, and the parenting slip brought all of that pain rushing back to the surface. McCall spoke candidly about how those early wounds can resurface unexpectedly, even in small everyday moments.
