NEW YORK CITY - Therapist and author Alli Spotts-DeLazzer appeared on a local morning show to help parents recognize the early signs of eating disorders in children. Spotts-DeLazzer, who wrote the book "My Child Has An Eating Disorder," stressed that parents often miss the warning signs because they look different than what most people expect.

She explained that eating disorders are not just about food. They are serious mental health conditions that can affect children as young as elementary school age.
